The end of the Dinosaur Age in eastern Poland

From 27 to 29 May 2026, the 90th Scientific Meeting of the Polish Geological Society was held in Lublin, co-organized by the Institute of Paleobiology of the Polish Academy of Sciences. During the plenary session, professor Marcin Machalski delivered a lecture entitled “The Cretaceous–Paleogene boundary in the Lublin Region in the context of the global record”. He also led conference field excursions to the most spectacular Cretaceous–Paleogene boundary sites in the Lublin Upland.
